If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards Altadena, CA. From downtown Los Angeles, take the I-5 N freeway. Merge onto I-210 E toward Pasadena. Take exit 30 for Lake Ave. Turn left onto Lake Ave, then continue on N Lake Ave. Turn right onto Mount Olive Dr, which will lead you to the base of the Mount Lowe Railway Trail. Park at the designated parking area near the trailhead. From there, the White City Ruins are a short hike along the trail.

For those using public transportation, take the Metro Gold Line towards Azusa. Get off at the Sierra Madre Villa Station. From there, you will need to catch the Pasadena Transit Route 10 bus heading towards Altadena. Get off at the stop near Lake Ave and Mount Olive Dr. From this point, you’ll need to walk to the Mount Lowe Railway Trailhead. The trail is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as the trail includes some inclines.
