Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Public Transit (Metro)
Start at any Metro station in Los Angeles. If you're near downtown, you can take the Expo Line (Light Rail) towards Santa Monica. Get off at the last stop, which is the 'Downtown Santa Monica' station. From there, head to 4th Street and take the Big Blue Bus (Route 1 or 3) towards Venice. Alight at the 'Venice & Pacific' stop. Walk south on Pacific Avenue towards the beach, then turn right on Venice Boulevard. Continue until you reach the Venice Canals, located just a few blocks away.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops around Santa Monica or Venice Beach. Start by heading down to the beach bike path, which runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean. Cycle south along the beachfront until you reach the Venice Canals. The canals are located just a few blocks inland from the beach, so you can park your bike and explore the unique pathways and bridges of the canals.
Walking
If you're staying in Venice or nearby, you can simply walk to the Venice Canals. From the Venice Beach Boardwalk, head east towards Pacific Avenue. Turn right on Pacific Avenue, and then take a left onto Venice Boulevard. Continue straight until you reach the canals, which are located between Venice Boulevard and Washington Boulevard. Enjoy the picturesque views and charming architecture along the way.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
If you prefer a more direct route, consider using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply enter 'Venice Canals, Venice, CA 90292' as your destination in the app. The drivers are familiar with the area, and you will be dropped off right at the entrance to the canals. This is a convenient option if you are staying further away from Venice.
Use Venice Canals as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
