Driving
From central Malibu, head west on the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) for approximately 10 miles. Look for the small parking lot on the ocean side of the highway, marked for La Piedra State Beach. Note that parking is limited and can fill up quickly, especially during peak season. The parking lot is located near 32700 Pacific Coast Highway. Weekday parking costs $8 per day, while weekends and holidays will cost $15 per day. Hourly parking is also available for $3. Be aware of 'No Parking' signs along PCH, as tickets can exceed $100. From the parking lot, a short, steep trail leads down to the beach.
Public Transport
The Los Angeles Metro 534 bus runs along the Pacific Coast Highway and has stops near La Piedra Beach. From Santa Monica, take the 534 bus towards Malibu. Check the Metro website or app for the most up-to-date schedule and stop locations. The closest stop is Trancas Canyon / Pacific Coast Highway, which is about a 58 minute walk / 5000 yards from La Piedra Beach. From the bus stop, follow the PCH to the La Piedra Beach parking lot. A single fare on the Metro bus is $1.75.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From anywhere in Malibu, a taxi or ride-sharing service (Uber/Lyft) can provide direct transport to La Piedra Beach. Input 'La Piedra Beach' as your destination. The driver will drop you off at the parking lot on the Pacific Coast Highway. From there, take the trail down to the beach. Fares vary depending on the starting location and time of day, but expect to pay between $20-$40 for a ride from central Malibu.
