Driving
From Mammoth Lakes, follow Lake Mary Road southwest. After approximately 4 miles, turn left across the Lake Mary Outlet. Then, turn right onto Lake George Road. The Crystal Lake Trailhead is located at the end of Lake George Road in the Lake George parking lot. Parking is free but limited, so arrive early, especially during peak season. Be aware that Lake George Road is seasonally closed, typically from late October to May, depending on snow conditions.

During the summer, take the free Mammoth Lakes Lakes Basin Trolley to the Lake George stop (check the ESTA website for the current schedule and route). From the Lake George stop, the trailhead is a short walk. The trolley eliminates the need to drive and find parking, which can be challenging during busy times. The Lakes Basin Trolley typically operates from mid-May through early November.
