Starting from downtown Martinez at Main Street and Escobar Street, head east on Escobar Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Marina Vista Avenue. Turn left onto Marina Vista Avenue and continue walking for another 0.3 miles. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Alhambra Avenue (CA-4). After about 0.2 miles, you will see the entrance to the Cal Riding & Hiking Trail on your right. Follow the trail signs toward Nejedly Staging Area, which is approximately a 0.6 mile walk from the entrance.

From the Martinez Amtrak Station, board the County Connection bus route 10 towards Pleasant Hill BART. Get off at the stop at Alhambra Ave & Marina Vista Ave. From there, walk east on Marina Vista Ave for about 0.3 miles to reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Alhambra Avenue (CA-4), and look for the entrance to the Cal Riding & Hiking Trail on your right after approximately 0.2 miles. Follow the trail to the Nejedly Staging Area, which is about a 0.6 mile walk from the trail entrance.
