Getting There

  • Walking

    From anywhere in Capitola Village, Esplanade Park is easily accessible on foot. Simply head towards the beach and the colorful Venetian Court. The park is located directly in front of the beach, adjacent to the bandstand. Look for the open green space and the paved promenade along the seawall.

  • Public Transport

    If arriving by public transport via Santa Cruz Metro, take Route 66 to the Capitola Mall and transfer to Route 55. Get off at the Capitola Village stop on Capitola Avenue. From there, walk towards Monterey Avenue and then towards the beach. The park will be on your left, next to the beach. A single ride on Santa Cruz Metro costs $2.50.

  • Driving

    If driving, navigate to Capitola Village. Parking in the village is limited to 2-3 hours and costs $2.00 per hour. Longer-term parking (up to 12 hours) is available at the Beach and Village Parking Lots (Upper and Lower) located off Capitola Avenue, Bay Avenue, and Monterey Avenue for $1.00 per hour. From the parking lots, walk down the hill towards the beach and the park will be on your left. During the summer, a free shuttle runs from the Beach and Village Parking Lots to Capitola Village on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
