Walking
The Cannery Row Monument is centrally located in Steinbeck Plaza on Cannery Row, making it easily accessible on foot from most points along the waterfront. From the Monterey Bay Aquarium, walk south along Cannery Row, following the paved path for approximately 5 minutes. The monument will be on your left, in the plaza overlooking the bay. From Fisherman's Wharf, walk east along the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail for about 15-20 minutes until you reach Cannery Row; the monument will be visible on your right. No costs are associated with walking to the monument.

Public Transport
Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) buses serve Cannery Row. Several routes stop near Steinbeck Plaza. Check the MST website or app for the most up-to-date schedules and routes. From downtown Monterey, take the MST Trolley, a free service operating daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (May 24 through September 1, 2025) between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. It serves Downtown Monterey, Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Look for the green MST Trolley signs to board along the route. A single ride on MST costs around $2-3. The free MST Trolley is available during the summer months.

Parking rates vary, with the Cannery Row Garage charging a flat rate between $5 and $22 depending on demand and time of year. Metered street parking is also available on Foam Street and surrounding cross streets for $1.75-$2.00 per hour, enforced daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Be aware that parking can be limited, especially during peak season.
