If you're driving to Filbert Steps from Muir Woods National Monument, start by exiting the park and heading southeast on Muir Woods Rd. Merge onto US-101 S. Take exit 436B toward I-280 S/San Francisco. Merge onto I-280 S and then take exit 43A toward 19th Ave. Continue on CA-1 N and follow the signs for Golden Gate Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take the exit toward Lombard St. and continue onto Lombard St. Turn left onto Van Ness Ave, then right onto Bay St. Finally, turn left onto Filbert St. Filbert Steps will be on your right at 202 Filbert St, San Francisco, CA 94133. Note that parking in the area may be limited and could incur a fee.

Public Transportation
To reach Filbert Steps using public transportation, first exit Muir Woods National Monument and walk to the nearest bus stop to catch the Marin Transit Route 66 bus. Take the bus to the Sausalito Ferry Terminal. From there, take the ferry to San Francisco Ferry Building. Once you arrive, walk to the Embarcadero BART station and take the BART train towards the East Bay. Transfer at Montgomery St. Station to the Muni bus or streetcar service. Choose the bus route that heads towards the North Beach area. Get off at Washington St. and Columbus Ave. From there, it's a short walk to Filbert Steps located at 202 Filbert St, San Francisco, CA 94133.
