BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
From most parts of Oakland, head to the nearest BART station. If you're near downtown, you can go to the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station. Purchase a ticket to the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. Once on the train, it will take approximately 15 minutes to reach Embarcadero. Upon arrival, exit the station and walk towards the Ferry Building. From there, you can catch a bus or walk to Jackson Square, which is located a few blocks north, just past the intersection of Jackson and Montgomery Streets.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, find a nearby AC Transit bus stop. You can take the AC Transit Line 1 or 1R towards San Francisco. Make sure to check the schedule for the specific times. The bus will take you across the Bay Bridge and drop you off at the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco. From the terminal, walk north along Mission Street, turn left onto Howard Street, and then head towards Montgomery Street. Jackson Square is just a short walk from there.
Ferry
For a scenic route, consider taking a ferry from Jack London Square in Oakland. Board the ferry to San Francisco. The ride offers stunning views of the Bay and will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Ferry Building in San Francisco, disembark and head north towards Jackson Square. It's a pleasant walk, taking about 15 minutes through the bustling streets.
Walking
If you are already in or near the Financial District or North Beach areas of San Francisco, you can walk to Jackson Square. From the Financial District, head towards Montgomery Street and walk north until you reach Jackson Street. Jackson Square is located just a few blocks away, and the area is rich with history and beautiful architecture, making for an enjoyable stroll.
