Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from downtown Napa. Head north on CA-29 N for approximately 10 miles. Take the exit toward Yountville and merge onto CA-29 N. Continue on CA-29 N for about 2 miles until you reach the town of Yountville. Turn left onto Washington St. and then take a right onto Cook Rd. The Site of George Yount's Blockhouse will be located at 1801 Cook Rd, Yountville, CA 94599. There is free street parking available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  For those utilizing public transportation, you can take the Napa Valley Vine Trail bus service from downtown Napa. Board the bus at the Napa Transit Center and take the route that goes towards Yountville. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the Yountville Stop, then walk approximately 0.5 miles northwest on Washington St. towards Cook Rd. Turn right onto Cook Rd, and continue walking for about 0.3 miles until you reach the Site of George Yount's Blockhouse at 1801 Cook Rd, Yountville, CA 94599. Note that bus fares are typically around $2 per ride.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in downtown Napa. From there, take the Napa River Trail heading north until you reach Yountville. Once you arrive in Yountville, follow the signs to Cook Rd. It is approximately a 6-mile ride from downtown Napa to the Site of George Yount's Blockhouse at 1801 Cook Rd, Yountville, CA 94599.
