The square will be on your left. Walking from Chinatown, head southwest on Grant Avenue towards Market Street, then turn left onto Geary Street. Union Square will be on your right. No cost for walking.
Public Transport
Union Square is a major transportation hub served by BART, Muni Metro, and cable cars. Take BART to the Powell Street station; from there, it's a short walk to the square. Several Muni bus lines also stop near Union Square. A single ride on Muni costs $3.00, or $2.50 if using a Clipper card or the MuniMobile app. Cable car fare is $8 per ride.
