Getting There

• Public Transit

  If you are near the downtown area of Oakland, start by heading to the 12th St. Oakland City Center BART station. Take the BART train towards the Richmond station. After about 8 stops, get off at the MacArthur station. From the MacArthur BART station, exit and head towards the bus stop for AC Transit. Take AC Transit Bus 51A towards the Bay Fair BART station. Ride for approximately 10-15 minutes and get off at the Lincoln Ave & Park Blvd stop. From there, walk east on Lincoln Ave for about 0.3 miles until you reach 4700 Lincoln Ave, where Ascension Cathedral is located.

  If you are within walking distance or prefer to walk, locate Lincoln Avenue in Oakland. Ascension Cathedral is situated at 4700 Lincoln Ave. Depending on your starting point, you can follow local streets to reach Lincoln Ave. Once on Lincoln Ave, continue walking until you see the cathedral on your right side. It is a Greek Orthodox church with a notable architectural presence.

• Bicycle

  For those biking around Oakland, you can start at Lake Merritt, which is centrally located. Head east on Lakeshore Ave until you reach Grand Ave, then turn left on Grand Ave. Continue straight until you reach Park Blvd, then take a right. Follow Park Blvd until it intersects with Lincoln Ave. Turn left on Lincoln Ave and continue for about 0.5 miles. Ascension Cathedral will be on your left at 4700 Lincoln Ave.
