Frank H. Ogawa Plaza: The Heart of Oakland

Getting There

• BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)

  If you're coming from San Francisco or other Bay Area locations, take the BART train to the 12th Street/Oakland City Center station. Once you exit the station, walk straight ahead on 14th Street for about two blocks until you reach Broadway. Turn left on Broadway, and continue walking until you reach Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, which is located directly in front of Oakland City Hall at 1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza.

• Bus

  Use AC Transit buses to reach Frank H. Ogawa Plaza. Check the AC Transit website or app for routes that serve your starting location. Most buses will stop at or near the 12th Street/Oakland City Center area. Once you disembark, head toward 14th Street and Broadway, then walk to Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, located directly in front of Oakland City Hall.

• Walking

  If you are already in downtown Oakland, locate Broadway Street. Walk along Broadway until you reach 14th Street. Turn left on 14th Street; Frank H. Ogawa Plaza will be directly ahead, in front of City Hall. This is a pleasant walk, and you can enjoy the local shops and cafes along the way.

• Bike

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-share program. Head toward downtown Oakland and follow the bike lanes along Broadway. Once you reach the intersection with 14th Street, park your bike at one of the bike racks near Frank H. Ogawa Plaza at 1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza.
