Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the Sacramento River, walk north along the waterfront. Cross the bridge at 5th Street and continue straight. Turn right onto Jibboom Street. MOSAC will be at 400 Jibboom St.

  • Public Transport

    From downtown Sacramento, take the Blue or Gold Line light rail towards Sacramento Valley College or Folsom, respectively. Get off at the 'St. Rose of Lima' station. Walk south on 3rd Street, then turn right onto Jibboom Street. The museum will be on your left at 400 Jibboom St. A single ride on Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) is $2.50.

  • Driving

    From I-5 N, take exit 519A for J Street. Continue on J Street, then turn left onto 5th Street. After about a mile, turn right onto Jibboom Street. MOSAC will be at 400 Jibboom St. Parking is available in the surrounding area. Check the Park Mobile app for payment options.

The SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC), located on the Sacramento Riverfront, is a dynamic hub for STEAM education. Popular exhibits include Nature Detectives, which features live creatures and interactive displays about local ecosystems, and Powering Change, which explores the history and future of energy. The Water Challenge exhibit explores the science of water and the challenges of managing water resources. Destination Space takes visitors on a journey through space with displays on planets, stars, and galaxies. Visitors can also enjoy shows in the UC Davis Multiverse Theater, a state-of-the-art planetarium. MOSAC aims to inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, and thought leaders. The museum is also committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable design, holding a LEED Platinum certification.
