Getting There

  • Walking

    From the California State Capitol, head west on Capitol Mall towards the Sacramento River. Continue for approximately 1 mile. Old Sacramento State Historic Park will be on your left, between I Street and the Tower Bridge. The walk is about 18 minutes. There are no tolls or fees for walking.

  • Public Transport

    From the California State Capitol, take the Yolobus line 40 bus from the 9th St. at L St. stop to the Capitol Mall at Front WB stop. The bus ride is approximately 3 minutes and departs every 30 minutes. Old Sacramento State Historic Park is a short walk from the bus stop. The cost is between $2 and $4.

  • Driving

    From Interstate 5, take the J Street exit and follow the signs into the park. Abundant covered parking is available at the main parking structure located at 3rd and J Streets. There are also metered on-street parking spaces throughout the park, but these are limited to 90 minutes. Parking garage rates vary, but expect to pay around $2-3 per hour or $15-20 for the day. Metered street parking costs $1.75 per hour and is available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m..
