From the Old Sacramento Waterfront, the museum is easily accessible on foot. If you're near the California State Railroad Museum, simply walk south along Front Street until you reach I Street. The Sacramento History Museum will be on your left, at the corner of Front and I Street.

Sacramento Regional Transit offers bus and light rail service to Old Sacramento. From Sacramento Valley Station, walk south on 4th Street, then turn left onto I Street. The museum will be a few blocks down on your right. A single ride on Sacramento RT costs $2.50.
