From Highway 1, exit at Reservation Road in Marina. Head west on Reservation Road until it ends at Marina State Beach. The parking area provides access to both Marina State Beach and Marina Dunes Preserve. Parking is available in the main lot. Overnight parking/camping is not allowed. Parking fees may apply.

From San Francisco, take an Amtrak bus to Salinas. From Salinas Transit Center, transfer to a local bus that stops at Del Monte Blvd / Reservation Rd. From there, it is a short walk west on Reservation Road to Marina State Beach. Bus fare from San Francisco to Salinas is approximately $35 - $95. Local bus fare is approximately $2 - $4.

If you are near the Sanctuary Beach Resort, you can walk south along the beach to reach Marina State Beach. Alternatively, from the south entrance at the end of Lake Drive, walk the trail over the dunes to access the beach.
