    From Highway 78, take Twin Oaks Valley Road south (which becomes San Elijo Road). Just past the crest of the hill, turn right onto Double Peak Drive. Continue up Double Peak Drive until you reach the parking lot near the park entrance. Parking is free. Expect limited parking during peak hours.

    From Lakeview Park/Discovery Lake, follow the trail towards Double Peak. The trail is approximately 2.5 miles to the summit. The initial section is steep, but the majority of the trek is moderate. The route offers lovely views of San Marcos as you ascend.
