Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From downtown San Diego, use the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). Routes 3, 7, 120, and Rapid 215 serve stops on the east and west sides of Balboa Park. To enter from the park's east side (closest to the History Center), Routes 7 and Rapid 215 operate on Park Boulevard. Route 7 stops at the Rose Garden, while Rapid 215 stops at the San Diego Zoo. One-way fares are about $2.50, and with the PRONTO app, you can earn a Day Pass as you ride.

    From the Plaza de Panama, walk east along El Prado, the park's main promenade. The San Diego History Center is located in the Casa de Balboa building. Enjoy the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture and the surrounding gardens as you approach.
