    The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027. From the South (Northbound): From State Route 163, proceed to Interstate 15 North to the Via Rancho Parkway exit (Exit 27). Go east and follow signs to the Park. From the East (Westbound): From Interstate 8, take Interstate 15 North to the Via Rancho Parkway exit (Exit 27). Follow the signs east to the Park. Parking: General parking is $20 per vehicle. RV parking starts at $38. Preferred parking starts at $38.

  • Public Transport

    While public transportation options to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park are limited, especially on weekends and holidays, it is still possible to reach the park using a combination of bus and rail services. From downtown San Diego, take an MTS Express bus (routes 235, 280, or 290) to the Escondido Transit Center. From there, board the NCTD FLEX 371 bus, which provides direct service to the Safari Park. Note that FLEX 371 does not operate on weekends. Alternatively, take Amtrak from Los Angeles to Oceanside, then transfer to the Sprinter rail to the Escondido Transit Center. From there, take a taxi or rideshare to the Safari Park, which is approximately 7 miles away. Bus fare: MTS Express bus fares vary depending on the route and distance. NCTD FLEX 371 bus fare is approximately $2.50. Train fare: Amtrak and Sprinter fares vary depending on the distance and time of travel. Taxi/rideshare from Escondido Transit Center: Approximately $20-$30.
