Salesforce Park, a verdant escape in the heart of San Francisco, sits atop the Salesforce Transit Center, four stories above street level. Stretching nearly four blocks, this 5.4-acre rooftop park offers a unique blend of nature and urban design. Designed by PWP Landscape Architecture, the park features a curved walking trail that spans half a mile, surrounding grassy lawns, botanical gardens, and an amphitheater.
The park is home to 600 trees and 16,000 plants, representing 13 different ecosystems from around the world. Visitors can explore themed gardens, such as the Chilean, South African, and desert gardens, each showcasing unique flora. Public art installations, including the Bus Fountain designed by Ned Kahn, add to the park's appeal. This interactive fountain uses sensors to respond to the movement of buses below, creating a dynamic water display.
Salesforce Park offers a variety of activities and amenities for visitors of all ages. The main plaza features an oculus surrounded by a bamboo grove, while the amphitheater hosts concerts, movie nights, and free yoga classes. Children can enjoy the play area with its climbing rope frame, and a free gondola provides scenic access to the park from Mission Square. The park is open daily, with hours varying seasonally.

Getting There
Public Transport
Salesforce Park is easily accessible via public transportation. Take BART to the Embarcadero or Montgomery Street stations, both a short walk north of the park. Various Muni bus lines also stop inside the Salesforce Transit Center. Check Muni and BART schedules for current fares and routes. A single ride on Muni costs $3, while BART fares vary depending on the distance traveled.
Walking
From the Embarcadero or Montgomery BART stations, walk one block south on any street to Mission Street, then head east towards Fremont Street. The main entrance to Salesforce Transit Center is at 425 Mission Street. Take the escalators or elevators up to the park level. Alternatively, walk to the corner of Fremont and Mission Streets and take the free gondola to the park.
Taxi/Ride-share
Taxis and ride-sharing services can drop you off directly at the Salesforce Transit Center. The main entrance is located at 425 Mission Street. A short ride from the Financial District or downtown hotels will typically cost between $15 and $25, depending on traffic and distance.
