From San Mateo, head to the nearest SamTrans bus stop. You can take Route 292 towards San Francisco. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the Millbrae Intermodal Station. Here, transfer to the BART train. Take the train towards San Francisco/Daly City and get off at the Montgomery St. station. From there, walk to the Embarcadero BART station and take the Muni Metro N-Judah line towards Ocean Beach. Get off at the California St. & Stanyan St. stop, then walk to the de Young Museum located at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr in Golden Gate Park.
