    Public Transport

    From San Mateo, head to the San Mateo Caltrain station located at 3rd Avenue. Take the Caltrain northbound towards San Francisco. Ride the train until you reach the Millbrae station. At Millbrae, transfer to the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) system. Board a BART train heading towards the East Bay and alight at the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. From Embarcadero, walk to the Ferry Building and catch the ferry towards Sausalito. Once you arrive at the Sausalito Ferry Terminal, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Fort Baker. Head north on Bridgeway, then turn left onto Spinnaker Way until you reach Fort Baker.

    Bus

    Begin your journey at the San Mateo Transit Center located at 200 S. Delaware Street. Take the SamTrans bus Route 292 towards San Francisco. Ride the bus until you reach the Millbrae station. From Millbrae, transfer to BART and take the train to the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. After reaching Embarcadero, walk to the Ferry Building and board the ferry to Sausalito. Upon arrival at the Sausalito Ferry Terminal, walk north along Bridgeway, then take a left onto Spinnaker Way to reach Fort Baker.

    Biking

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from a local shop in San Mateo. Start your ride from downtown San Mateo and head towards the Bay Trail. Follow the Bay Trail north along the waterfront, which will eventually lead you to the Golden Gate Bridge. Continue across the bridge and follow the signs to Sausalito. Once in Sausalito, continue riding until you reach Fort Baker, which is located near the north end of Sausalito.
