Getting There

    From downtown San Mateo, walk to the nearest SamTrans bus stop located at 3rd Avenue and B Street. Take the SamTrans Route 397 towards San Francisco. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the stop at 5th Street and Mission Street. From there, walk northwest on Mission Street until you reach North Beach, which is a short 10-minute walk.

    From the San Mateo Caltrain Station, board a southbound Caltrain towards San Francisco. It’s about a 20-minute ride. Get off at the 4th and King station in San Francisco. Upon exiting the station, catch the Muni T-Third Street train towards Sunnydale. After a few stops, transfer to the Muni 30-Stockton bus at the stop at 4th and King. Ride to the stop at Columbus Avenue and Bay Street. From there, North Beach is a brief 5-minute walk north.

  • Bicycle

    If you're comfortable riding a bike, rent one from a local bike shop in San Mateo. Follow the Bay Trail north along the waterfront, which will eventually lead you to the city of San Francisco.
