Once you arrive at Union Station in Los Angeles, transfer to the Metro Red Line subway. Board the train heading towards North Hollywood and get off at the Hollywood/Highland station. From there, you can catch the DASH Observatory bus (Route 222) which will take you directly to the Griffith Park area. Get off at the stop closest to the Los Angeles Zoo, which is located at 5333 Zoo Dr.

    Take the Santa Clarita Transit bus route 1 from the Santa Clarita Transit Center towards the North Hollywood Metro Station. At the North Hollywood Metro Station, transfer to the Metro Red Line subway towards Union Station. Ride the subway until you reach the Hollywood/Highland station. From there, take the DASH Observatory bus (Route 222) that goes to Griffith Park. Get off at the stop closest to the Los Angeles Zoo.
