    During summer (late May to early September), Crescent Meadow Road is often closed to private vehicles on weekends and holidays from 9:00 AM through late afternoon. Take the free Sequoia Shuttle (Gray Route 2) from the Giant Forest Museum. The shuttle runs frequently and drops you off at the Crescent Meadow parking lot and shuttle stop, the trailhead is right there.

  • Driving

    When Crescent Meadow Road is open, drive from the Generals Highway (CA-198) to the Giant Forest Museum. From there, take Crescent Meadow Road approximately 2.6 miles to the Crescent Meadow/High Sierra Trailhead parking area. Note that parking is limited, and the lot can fill up quickly, especially during peak season. During the winter months, the road is closed.
