Experience Tunnel Rock

Getting There

  • Hiking

    If you are starting from the Giant Forest area, first head south on the Crescent Meadow Road. Continue until you reach the junction with the Generals Highway (CA-198). Turn left onto the Generals Highway and continue walking. Follow the trail signs towards Tunnel Rock. The hike will take approximately 1.5 miles and provide gorgeous views of the surrounding forest.

  • Hiking

    From the Lodgepole Visitor Center, exit the center and walk south towards the Generals Highway. When you reach the highway, turn left and proceed on the side of the road for about 2 miles. Be cautious as this section is along the roadway. Tunnel Rock will be on your right-hand side, marked by a notable tunnel-like structure carved through the rock.

  • Hiking

    If you are near the park entrance at Three Rivers, begin your hike on the trail leading into the park. Walk along the park entrance road until you reach the Generals Highway. Turn right onto the highway and continue walking for about 1.5 miles. Tunnel Rock will be visible on your left side, as you approach from the south.
