Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Sacramento, take Interstate 80 East for about 60 miles. Exit onto CA-49 North towards Grass Valley/Nevada City. Continue on CA-49 North for approximately 25 miles until you reach the town of Penn Valley. Once in Penn Valley, turn right onto Pleasant Valley Road. Follow Pleasant Valley Road for about 3 miles, and you'll arrive at the South Yuba River State Park, located at 17660 Pleasant Valley Rd, Penn Valley, CA 95946.

• Public Transportation

  To reach South Yuba River State Park using public transportation, take a Greyhound or Amtrak bus to the Grass Valley area. From the bus station, you can use local taxi services or rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft to get to the park. The ride from Grass Valley to the park is approximately 15 miles and may cost around $25-$35 depending on demand and time of day.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous tourist, biking to South Yuba River State Park is an option. From Grass Valley, take the paved bike path that connects to Pleasant Valley Road. • Walk

  Walking to South Yuba River State Park is not recommended due to the distance and lack of pedestrian infrastructure. The park is roughly 15 miles from the nearest bus station in Grass Valley, which would take several hours to walk.
