• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Grass Valley. Head southeast on E Main St toward S Auburn St. Continue onto the CA-49 S highway. After approximately 1.5 miles, take the exit toward Grass Valley and merge onto ID-80 W. Continue onto Hocking Ave. The Gold Hill Mine is located at 146 Hocking Ave, Grass Valley, CA 95945. Look for parking along the street as the area can get busy.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by checking the nearest bus service in Grass Valley. You may take the Gold Country Stage bus service, which operates in the area. Look for a route that heads toward Grass Valley. Once you arrive at the Grass Valley Transit Center, it's approximately a 15-minute walk to the Gold Hill Mine. Head east on E Main St, then turn left onto Hocking Ave. Follow Hocking Ave until you reach 146 Hocking Ave. Be sure to check the bus schedule for timings and any fare costs.

  If you are already in Grass Valley and wish to walk to the Gold Hill Mine, begin at the Grass Valley Historic District. Walk southeast on E Main St for about 0.7 miles until you reach Hocking Ave. Turn left onto Hocking Ave and continue walking until you reach 146 Hocking Ave. This is a pleasant walk through the historic area, and you’ll get to enjoy the local scenery.
