From Tahoe City, walk to the nearest bus stop along Highway 89. Board the Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) bus heading towards Truckee. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Highway 89 and Interstate 80 in Truckee. Transfer to the Placer County Transit (PCT) bus towards Reno. Ensure you check the current bus schedule for exact times. After approximately 1 hour, you will arrive at the Reno bus station. From there, it's a short walk to City Plaza, located at 30 N Virginia St, Reno, NV 89501, which should take about 5-10 minutes.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Tahoe City. Start your journey by cycling along the scenic bike path that runs adjacent to Lake Tahoe. Follow the path towards the south until you reach the intersection with Highway 89. Continue on Highway 89 heading south until you reach the town of Truckee. From Truckee, you’ll need to navigate towards Interstate 80. Once you reach Interstate 80, follow the bike lanes or designated paths towards Reno. This trip will take several hours, so make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area, you can walk to Reno. Start from Tahoe City and head south on Highway 89 towards Truckee. This is a long walk, approximately 35 miles, so it may take a full day. Walking along the highway might not be the safest option due to traffic, so it is recommended to use the side paths where available. Once you arrive in Truckee, you can catch a bus to Reno or continue walking along the designated paths to reach your destination.
