From La Jolla, walk to the nearest bus stop, which you can find along Girard Avenue or Prospect Street. Take the bus number 30 towards 'Oceanside Transit Center'. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the 'Mission Ave & College Blvd' stop. Once you get off, walk east on Mission Avenue for about 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at Mission San Luis Rey, located on the right side of the road at 4050 Mission Ave.

Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the bike rental shops in La Jolla. Start by heading east on Prospect Street until you reach Torrey Pines Road. Turn left on Torrey Pines Road and continue heading north. After approximately 2 miles, turn right onto Carmel Valley Road, then left on El Camino Real. Continue until you reach Mission Ave, then turn right. After riding for about 1.5 miles, you will find Mission San Luis Rey on your left at 4050 Mission Ave.

For the adventurous, you can walk to Mission San Luis Rey from La Jolla. Start at the La Jolla Cove and head north along the coast until you reach the La Jolla Shores. Continue along the shoreline until you hit the bike path. Follow the bike path, which will lead you inland towards Mission Ave. Once you reach Mission Ave, turn right and walk about 1 mile until you see Mission San Luis Rey on your right at 4050 Mission Ave.
