Start at Walnut Creek BART Station. Purchase a ticket to the Embarcadero Station in San Francisco. Board a train heading towards San Francisco/Daly City. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Embarcadero Station, exit the train and follow the signs to the street level. Once outside, head towards the waterfront; the Ferry Building will be directly in front of you.

From Walnut Creek, take the County Connection Bus Route 6 towards the Walnut Creek BART Station. Once at the BART station, purchase your ticket to the Embarcadero Station. Board the BART train to San Francisco. After arriving at the Embarcadero Station, head toward the waterfront, and you will see the Ferry Building directly ahead.

If you prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route to downtown Walnut Creek and then catch the BART train at the Walnut Creek BART Station.
