    From downtown San Francisco, take the Alameda/Oakland Ferry from the Ferry Building. The ferry ride is approximately 20 minutes. Upon arrival at the Alameda Main Street Terminal, it's a short taxi or rideshare to the museum, or a 2.1-mile walk. Alternatively, from Oakland BART stations, take the Line 96 bus to the USS Hornet Museum, followed by a 0.8-mile walk. AC Transit bus lines 62 or 63 from West Oakland BART will take you to the 'Main St & Central Ave' stop in Alameda, from which it is approximately a 15-minute walk to the museum. Ferry fare: ~$9.00 one way [check exact fares with the San Francisco Bay Ferry]. AC Transit bus fare: ~$2.50 [check exact fares with AC Transit].

  • Driving

    From Oakland, take I-880 S and merge onto I-980 W. Continue onto I-880 S, then take exit 29 for I-580 W toward San Francisco. Merge onto I-580 W and take exit 1B for the Webster St Tube toward Alameda. Follow the signs to Alameda and continue straight. Once on Alameda Island, turn left onto W Hornet Ave. The USS Hornet will be on your right at 707 W Hornet Ave. Parking is available in front of the ship and is complimentary. However, parking may be limited during special events.
