The Arrowhead Viewing Spot is a historical monument providing panoramic views of the iconic Arrowhead landmark, a natural geological feature on the face of the San Bernardino Mountains. This distinct landmark has been a symbol of the San Bernardino Valley for centuries, holding significance for the Native Americans and later, the pioneers and settlers.The Arrowhead itself is an impressive sight, measuring 1,375 feet in length and 449 feet in width, covering approximately 7.5 acres. Its shape is formed by light-colored quartz supporting the growth of white sage, contrasting sharply with the darker chaparral vegetation surrounding it. While appearing almost man-made, the Arrowhead is a natural phenomenon, with many legends surrounding its origin. Native Americans believed the Arrowhead pointed towards hot mineral springs with healing properties, considering the area sacred. The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians illuminated the Arrowhead in 2016 to honor the victims of the 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack.Today, the Arrowhead Viewing Spot provides visitors with a place to connect with the region's history and appreciate the natural beauty of the San Bernardino Valley.
