Getting There

Hiking
Start from the Yosemite Village Visitor Center. Head east toward the Yosemite Lodge, following signs for the Half Dome Trail. The trailhead is located behind the lodge. The first segment of the hike will take you through a beautiful forested area along the Merced River. Follow the marked trail as it begins to ascend gradually. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach a junction. Continue straight to stay on the Half Dome Trail. The ascent will become steeper and more strenuous, but the views of the valley below are absolutely worth it. After approximately 2 miles, you will arrive at the base of Sub Dome. The trail will lead you right to the Sub Dome area, where you can take a break and enjoy the breathtaking views of Half Dome and the surrounding landscape.
