Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center, take the free park shuttle to Happy Isles (stop #16). From the shuttle stop, follow the paved path towards the trailhead for the Mist Trail. The walk to the base of Vernal Fall is approximately 1.2 miles (1.9 km) and involves a steep climb with many steps. No fees are required to access the trail or the falls.

  • Public Transport

    If arriving by YARTS (Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System) bus, disembark at the Yosemite Valley Transportation Center. Transfer to the free park shuttle and take it to Happy Isles (stop #16). From there, follow the walking directions to Vernal Fall via the Mist Trail. A YARTS day pass costs approximately $10-$20 depending on the origin location.
