Driving
Tunnel View is located on Wawona Road (Highway 41). From Yosemite Valley, head south on Highway 41 for approximately 1.5 miles. The parking area is on the right side of the road, just before entering the Wawona Tunnel. From the park's south entrance, drive north on Highway 41 for 24.5 miles. After passing through the Wawona Tunnel, the parking areas are visible on both sides of the road. Note that a Yosemite National Park entrance fee is required. As of July 2025, the fee is $35 per vehicle, valid for seven days. Alternatively, you can purchase a Yosemite Pass for $70, allowing unlimited visits for 12 months. During peak season (May through September), a reservation may be required to enter Yosemite National Park. Check the National Park Service website for current reservation requirements.

Public Transport
While there is no direct shuttle service to Tunnel View, you can take the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle to the El Capitan Meadow stop. From there, you can hike or walk along the road towards Tunnel View, but be cautious of traffic. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Yosemite Valley to Tunnel View for approximately $30-$40. To access Yosemite Valley via public transport, consider the YARTS (Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System) bus. YARTS provides service from several gateway communities to Yosemite Valley, where you can then transfer to the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle.
