Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the Angkor Archaeological Park. From Siem Reap city center, take the Road 6 towards the Angkor Park entrance. Once you reach the entrance, pay the entrance fee (approximately $37 for a one-day pass). After entering, follow the signs to the Angkor Thom complex. The Terrace of the Elephants is located within Angkor Thom. Look for the main road leading to the Bayon Temple, and you will find the Terrace on the east side of the Bayon.

• Tuk-Tuk

  For a local transportation experience, hire a tuk-tuk from your hotel or a nearby tuk-tuk stand. Agree on a price before you set off, which typically ranges from $15 to $25 for a half-day tour. Ask the driver to take you to the Angkor Archaeological Park. Once you enter the park (entrance fee is around $37), instruct the driver to take you to the Terrace of the Elephants located within Angkor Thom, just east of the Bayon Temple.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  While public buses in Siem Reap primarily serve long-distance routes, you can take a local bus or shared taxi to the Angkor Archaeological Park. From Siem Reap, look for a bus service heading towards Angkor Wat. After reaching the park, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk or walk to the Terrace of the Elephants, which is about 3 km from the main temple entrance. Remember to pay the entrance fee to Angkor Park, which is approximately $37.

• Bicycle Rental

  For the more adventurous, rent a bicycle from a shop in Siem Reap. Ride towards Angkor Park, following Road 6. The ride is approximately 6 km to the park entrance. After paying the entrance fee of around $37, cycle through the park to reach the Terrace of the Elephants, located east of the Bayon Temple. Ensure you have a map or GPS as the paths can be winding.
