Getting There

Tuk-tuk

From Siem Reap, the most common way to reach Pre Rup is by tuk-tuk. Negotiate a round-trip fare, which typically costs between $15 and $25. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Ensure the driver knows you want to visit Pre Rup temple specifically. This price does not include the Angkor Pass, which is required to enter the archaeological park.
Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Siem Reap and offer a comfortable ride to Pre Rup. Expect to pay around $25-$35 for a round trip. Agree on the price beforehand. Pre Rup, meaning "turning the body", is a majestic mountain temple constructed in 961 or early 962 AD during the reign of King Rajendravarman II. Located south of the East Baray, it was likely the state temple of the Khmer empire and is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple's name is believed to be linked to ancient cremation rituals, where the body was turned in different directions.
