From the Old Market area, walk north along the Siem Reap River. The Royal Residence and gardens are approximately a 15-minute walk. Follow the riverbank, passing ornate stone street lamps and sculptures. The gardens will be on your left, and the Royal Residence is across Road 6. There are no entrance fees for the gardens.

Tuk-tuks are readily available throughout Siem Reap. A short trip from the city center or Pub Street to the Royal Residence and gardens typically costs between US$3 and US$5. The gardens also feature the Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm Shrine, a revered religious site where locals pray and receive blessings from monks. The gardens are a focal point for celebrations, especially during the Water Festival and Khmer New Year.In late 2022, twelve copper statues commemorating military leaders from the Khmer Empire era were unveiled outside the residence. The Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor, a colonial-style hotel built during the French occupation, stands opposite the Royal Residence and gardens.
