Travel Guide to Mekong Bridge

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from the center of Stung Treng, head south on National Road 7. Continue on this road for approximately 6 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Cambodia-China Friendship Mekong Bridge. The bridge is well-marked, and you will see signs directing you to it. Upon reaching the bridge, you can park nearby – there are some designated areas for parking.

• Tuk-Tuk

  For a more local experience, consider taking a tuk-tuk from your accommodation in Stung Treng. Simply tell the driver you want to go to the Cambodia-China Friendship Mekong Bridge, and they will know the location. The fare should be around $3 to $5, depending on your starting point, so be sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes.

• Public Bus

  If you prefer public transportation, there are buses that run from Stung Treng to nearby towns. However, there may not be a direct bus to the Mekong Bridge itself. You can take a bus heading towards the south and get off at the closest bus stop to the bridge (about 2-3 kilometers away). From there, you can either walk or hire a tuk-tuk to cover the remaining distance. Buses typically cost around $2 and run on a set schedule.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and enjoy walking, you can reach the Mekong Bridge by foot. Starting from the center of Stung Treng, head south on National Road 7. It's roughly a 6 km walk, which should take about 1.5 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, as the sun can be intense during the day.
