From Tbong Khmum, head southeast on National Road 7. Continue on this road for approximately 30 km until you reach the town of Kratie. In Kratie, look for signs directing you to the ferry terminal. The terminal is located along the Mekong River where you can park your car. Cost for parking is approximately $1 per day. After parking, purchase a ferry ticket to Koh Pen, which costs around $1-$2. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes.
Public Transportation
From Tbong Khmum, take a local bus heading towards Kratie. Buses are available at the central bus station and cost approximately $5-$7 for the journey. The trip takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Kratie, follow signs or ask locals for directions to the ferry terminal. Walk to the terminal and purchase a ferry ticket to Koh Pen, costing around $1-$2. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes.
Motorbike Taxi
For a more adventurous option, you can hire a motorbike taxi from Tbong Khmum to Kratie. Negotiate the fare, which should be around $15-$20 for the trip. After arriving in Kratie, ask the driver to take you to the ferry terminal. Once there, buy a ferry ticket to Koh Pen for about $1-$2 and enjoy the 15-minute ride to the island.
