    If you are driving, start from the Cape Breton Highlands National Park Visitor Centre located at 1 Baddeck Road, Baddeck, NS. Head southwest on NS-105 W for about 18 kilometers until you reach the junction with NS-19 S. Take the exit for NS-19 S towards Margaree Forks. Continue on NS-19 S for approximately 35 kilometers. After passing through Margaree Forks, turn left onto the Cabot Trail (NS-30) and follow it for 10 kilometers until you see a sign for French River Wilderness Area. Turn right onto the access road leading to the park entrance. Parking is available at the site.
