Dufferin Terrace, or Terrasse Dufferin, is a renowned boardwalk in Quebec City that wraps around the Château Frontenac, offering breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River. Named after Lord Dufferin, the Governor General of Canada from 1872 to 1878, the terrace has been a popular gathering place since its public inauguration in 1838. Originally a private boardwalk for dignitaries, it was opened to the public by Lord Durham in 1838. Over the years, it has been extended and enhanced, becoming a vibrant hub for locals and tourists alike. Today, the terrace features six gazebos named after historical figures, benches, and monuments, including a statue of Samuel de Champlain.
