From there, it's a 2-minute walk to Dufferin Terrace, located on Rue des Carrières. A single fare is around $3.75 CAD.

    For a unique and direct route from Lower Town, take the Funiculaire du Vieux-Québec. The lower entrance is located at 16 Rue Petit-Champlain. It brings you directly to Dufferin Terrace near the Château Frontenac. A one-way trip costs approximately $3.50 CAD.

    Dufferin Terrace, or Terrasse Dufferin, is a renowned boardwalk in Quebec City that wraps around the Château Frontenac, offering breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River. Named after Lord Dufferin, the Governor General of Canada from 1872 to 1878, the terrace has been a popular gathering place since its public inauguration in 1838.Originally a private boardwalk for dignitaries, it was opened to the public by Lord Durham in 1838. Over the years, it has been extended and enhanced, becoming a vibrant hub for locals and tourists alike. Today, the terrace features six gazebos named after historical figures, benches, and monuments, including a statue of Samuel de Champlain.Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, live entertainment, and seasonal activities. In the summer, street performers and musicians fill the air, while in the winter, the iconic toboggan run offers thrilling rides. The Saint-Louis Forts and Châteaux National Historic Site lies beneath the terrace, with remnants of former residences of French and British governors visible through glass prisms. The Funiculaire du Vieux-Québec, located at the northern end, provides a direct link to the Lower Town.
