Travel Guide to Frontenac Stairs

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to Quebec City. Use a GPS system or a mapping app to get directions to the address: Frontenac Stairs, Québec City, Quebec G1R 4R6. There is limited street parking available around the area, so be prepared to pay for parking at nearby lots or use metered street parking. Once you park, you can walk to the stairs, which are located near the Château Frontenac.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take the RTC (Réseau de transport de la Capitale) bus to the stop 'Château Frontenac'. You can catch the bus from various locations in the city. The fare is approximately CAD 3.50 per ride, and be sure to have exact change or a transit card. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to Frontenac Stairs, which are located just beside the Château Frontenac.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the Old Quebec area, you can easily walk to the Frontenac Stairs. From the Old Port, head northwest on Rue Saint-Jean towards Côte de la Montagne. Continue until you reach the stairs located next to the Château Frontenac. The walk is approximately 15 minutes and is a beautiful way to experience the historic architecture of Quebec City.

• Funicular

  If you prefer a scenic route and are coming from the lower town, consider taking the Funicular at the Old Port. It connects the lower and upper parts of the city. The ride costs about CAD 3.50 and offers a breathtaking view of the city. Once you exit the Funicular, you will be very close to the Frontenac Stairs, which you can easily access on foot.
