Continue for about 210 kilometers until you reach the town of Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez. From there, take Route 225, which leads to the town of Caleta Tortel. The drive will take you through stunning landscapes and along the shores of General Carrera Lake. Be aware that the last stretch to Caleta Tortel involves navigating through a gravel road, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for such conditions. Parking is available upon arrival in the village.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Coyhaique to Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez. The bus companies that operate this route include Buses Cruz del Sur and Buses Cootra. Once you arrive in Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez, you can catch a local taxi or shared taxi to cover the remaining distance to Caleta Tortel. Be prepared for an additional cost for the taxi ride, which can range between CLP 3,000 to CLP 5,000 per person, depending on the number of passengers. Note that bus schedules can vary, so it’s advisable to check in advance.
