Car
From Coyhaique, take Route 7 (Carretera Austral) heading south. After approximately 35 km, you will reach a junction. Keep left to stay on Route 7. Continue for another 10 km until you reach the entrance to Parque Nacional Cerro Castillo. There is a parking area available where you can leave your car. From the parking area, you will need to hike approximately 3 km to reach Las Horquetas, following the marked trails within the park.
Public Transportation
From Coyhaique, you can catch a bus heading towards Puerto Ibáñez. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Parque Nacional Cerro Castillo, which is approximately 45 km from Coyhaique. The bus fare is around 5,000 CLP. Once dropped off, you will need to hike approximately 3 km to reach Las Horquetas. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as the frequency may vary.
Guided Tours
Consider booking a guided tour from Coyhaique that includes transportation to Parque Nacional Cerro Castillo. These tours typically provide transportation, a guide, and sometimes meals.
