Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Concepción, the largest city in the Biobío Region. Head south on Route 160 (Ruta 160) towards Talcahuano. Continue on this route for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach Talcahuano. Once in Talcahuano, follow the signs to Isla Rocuant. You'll need to drive onto Av. Costanera and then turn onto Av. San Martín. After that, look for signs directing you to Isla Rocuant. There is limited parking available near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Playa Rocuant using public transportation, start at the Concepción bus terminal. Look for buses heading to Talcahuano; these are frequent and cost around 1,500 CLP (Chilean Pesos). Once you arrive at the Talcahuano terminal, you can take a local taxi or rideshare to Isla Rocuant, which will cost approximately 5,000 CLP. Alternatively, you can also take a local bus from the Talcahuano terminal to Isla Rocuant, but be sure to check the local bus schedules for availability.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider biking to Playa Rocuant. From Concepción, you can follow the coastal route via Route 160. Ensure your bike is in good condition and bring water and snacks, as the ride can take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Talcahuano, follow local bike paths to reach Isla Rocuant. Please be cautious with traffic, especially on busy roads.
Walking
If you are already in Talcahuano, you can walk to Playa Rocuant. Depending on your starting point, the walk may take approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Head towards Av. Costanera, then follow the waterfront path that leads to Isla Rocuant. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as parts of the walk may be along busy roads.
