Car
From central locations in the Central Valley, head towards Route 5 (Pan-American Highway) southbound. Continue on Route 5 for approximately 40 kilometers. Take the exit towards San Jose de Maipo (Route G-25) and follow the signs for San Jose de Maipo. Drive through the town, then continue on Route G-25 towards the Andes. After about 18 kilometers, you will reach the entrance to the San Francisco Glacier trail. Note that a parking fee may apply, usually around CLP 5,000.

From central Santiago, take the Metro Line 1 to Los Dominicos station. Transfer to a bus heading to San Jose de Maipo (look for bus numbers like 73 or 74). The bus ride takes about an hour.
