Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Valdivia, the capital of Los Ríos Region. Head southeast on Route 5 towards La Unión. After approximately 60 km, take the exit towards Route 201 towards Panguipulli. Continue on Route 201 for about 40 km until you reach Panguipulli. From Panguipulli, continue on Route 203 towards Coñaripe. After about 25 km, turn left onto a dirt road that leads to the Cascada el Claro trailhead. There is no fee to access the area, but ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Valdivia to Panguipulli. Buses leave regularly from Valdivia's main bus terminal. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Panguipulli, you will need to catch a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the Cascada el Claro trailhead. Inform the driver of your destination. This taxi ride may cost around 10,000 to 15,000 CLP (Chilean Pesos).
Hiking
Once you arrive at the Cascada el Claro trailhead, you will need to hike approximately 1 km along a well-marked path to reach the waterfall. The trail is moderate and takes about 20-30 minutes to walk. Ensure you have appropriate hiking shoes and carry water and snacks for your hike.
